If you’re looking for excellence, kindness, and compassion then you have come to the right place. Dr. Stephanie Osinchuk has achieved the highest level of veterinary ophthalmology specialization, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (abvo.us). She received both her DVM and MSc (veterinary ophthalmology) from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM).  

She worked as ophthalmology faculty at the WCVM training veterinary students and conducting research before starting the Island Veterinary Eye Specialist clinic. She has presented ophthalmology research at several world class research conventions including ACVO, Veterinary Ophthalmology Surgery Meeting, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. She has published peer reviewed scientific articles on cataracts, retinal disease, neurophthalmology, and corneal disease.

She enthusiastically  contributes to the ophthalmology and veterinary community. She serves as a reviewer for the scientific journals Veterinary Ophthalmology, Canadian Veterinary Journal, and the Journal of American Veterinary Medical Association. She is an examiner for the foreign graduates for the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, and volunteers on the American Board of Veterinary Ophthalmology Residency training committee.

Stephanie grew up on a hobby farm and has loved helping animals from a young age. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two young children, and their beloved dogs Georgia Peach and Delilah. She looks forward to welcoming you and your pet to our clinic family.
